I occasionally get unidentified extras in the lots of dinobrites/mites I buy off ebay.

This little pink lizard dude is clearly not a dinobrite, but he's interesting all the same. He currently lives on top of my work monitor.

Looks like he might be from India, 1987? Not sure what the second word is - PIENER? DIENER?

Anyone know his backstory?

Diener Industries.

Based in North America, Diener made all kinds of pencil toppers and novelty eraser-type figures.

Here is a link that shows off just some of their wares: https://www.plaidstallions.com/diener/

I didn’t know Diener made one of these! Most of their dinosaur and prehistoric animals I’ve seen are the ones that got produced well past the 80s. This is a Diener Eryops, an amphibian, and it’s possible this is one of the last years the eraser was still made. Not sure, no one catalogs this sort of info well.

Looks like this one is solved! Thanks, guys! I knew he probably had a cool backstory and now I love him all the more.

This forum is the best.
