Anyone else here get some Beasts from the "Marcia Moll Collection" that was on eBay recently?

https://www.ebay.com...1bW15MTZieXRlcw

I got Antic Anteater. As expected, I could not see any difference with my "regular" Anteater figure (except less paint wear), but the weapon is missing the number.

Here is the description from the seller:

"This listing is one of a special collection from Marcia Moll, a long time toy product manager at Revell and Hasbro in the 1970s and 80s. Among these listing are mint boxed production items as well as some rare prototypes, product catalogs and other publications.  Please be sure to examine each item carefully for variations from publicly released items as I am sure I will miss some unique variations in these listings that will make for a nice find for an advanced collector.  I always combine shipping for multiple auction winners so please take a look at my other auctions and save on shipping!

SPECIAL NOTE: Marcia was the Assistant Product Manager in charge of the Battle Beasts line and flew to Japan to review the line and put together the product catalog and other promotional items.  She brought this figure and the other BB figures listed back from that visit to Japan.  She can't positively verify it, but she believes that the figures listed here this week are from the photo shoot that was used to put together the sales catalog and other promo materials for the US market."

IF they are what they were told to be it´s a shame to see a ¨set¨ (not all Beasts you´d expect were there) like that fall apart and gets pieced out simply because it had fallen into the hands of a reseller or toy company who didn´t really judge the historical value of these Beasts. For those who might´ve missed it or were unable to make the connection themselves the ¨Marica Moll Beasts¨ offered were potentially part of the photo shoot of this promotion picture in Japan;

A few of the most eye catching Beasts like the Duck with extra orange details, the Mouse with extra blue details and the Zebra without the painted Black hair and other detail color were the most obvious and these can, possibly, be the ones that are shown in this promotion picture.

What´s known from finds in the past is that the paint on figures used for promotion purposes are always painted with a high attention to detail which seems to have been the case on all the Beasts that were offered. BUT as you can tell there are quite a few Beasts shown on this image while in reality not all of them were offered so this is a little bit weird because if these are the Beasts from this ¨set¨ and the seller claims to have listed all the Beast he had why would Ms Moll not have all of these figures?!

Another weird things is the fact that from the eye catching Zebra there was not just 1 figures listed but 4 (!!) of them, why would there be 4...?

It´s pretty interesting and probably an important details that the weapons ARE MISSING the weapon numbers because unlike the S3 Zebra all of the S2 figures had the stamps underneath their feet that are comparable to the produced/released versions.

As often with finds like these there are much more questions than answers and I know there are quite a few within the BB Community already who´re trying to go after more information and potentially hope to get in touch with Ms. Moll. Because of this I´ve decided to hold off on that simply because it´ll only decrease the chances of getting more valuable information if various different people ask for it and based on previous sales from the Ms. Moll collection in the past (other toy lines) it looks like it´s not proven to be very successful.

Personally I was able to get 4 figures but they for now reside within the US which means I haven´t had them in hand yet so I can´t make a proper judgement on the actual figures. With all the info provided and the fact that there are some crucial details present and absent it remains and interesting lot and potentially it´s definitely possible that these figures were part of that photo shoot...

To be continued...

Hopefully

Enjoy the Beasts!
